About the project

Monaco is a decentralized trading protocol built around a central limit order book (CLOB) that connects multiple trading applications to a shared liquidity layer on blockchain infrastructure (notably on the Sei network). It handles spot and perpetual markets for crypto and supports additional market types such as real-world assets and prediction markets. The design separates the order execution engine from individual user interfaces, so different trading apps and interfaces plug into a single engine with deep price liquidity, unified order matching, and standardized settlement.

The protocol aims to give application builders and traders access to institutional-level market depth without developing their own matching and liquidity systems. Trades are executed quickly and settled onchain with minimal delay, and the shared infrastructure can distribute fees or revenue from order flow back to apps using the protocol. Key features include support for diverse asset types, shared liquidity across interfaces, and tooling for professional and retail access through integrated front ends.
